Bespoke only earns its name if it answers the actual housing stock. These are the rooms we draw for around Birmingham.
Victorian and Edwardian villas
Moseley, Kings Heath, Harborne: high ceilings, proper alcoves either side of a chimney breast, and walls that have settled a century out of square. Alcove-to-alcove fitted runs, scribed to the plaster, are the bread and butter of our week.
1930s semis
The city’s biggest housing stock, from Hall Green to Erdington. Bay-window front bedrooms, shallower alcoves, picture rails worth keeping. Furniture is drawn to sit below the rail line and step around the bay, not fight either of them.
Loft conversions
Across Kings Heath, Stirchley and Bournville the loft is the new fourth bedroom. Doors cut to the roof pitch, drawers where the head height runs out, and the eaves turned from dead air into deep storage. Precision work, which suits us.
City-centre apartments
Jewellery Quarter conversions and the newer canalside builds have their own rules: concrete ceilings you cannot chase, party walls you must not touch, and floor plans where a wasted centimetre shows. The furniture carries the services instead.

The Birmingham classic: a chimney breast flanked by two alcoves, each one a different width and neither one square. We survey both to the millimetre, build in the workshop up the road, and scribe the edges until the joins read as part of the room.
Walk-in wardrobes in Birmingham
The villa box room earns its keep as a dressing room, and the bigger Moseley and Harborne bedrooms give up their far end to a walk-in behind a joinery partition. A room you walk into, drawn around how you actually dress.
Bedroom furniture in Birmingham
Bedsides, chests and dressing tables made alongside the wardrobes, in the same finish, by the same hands. In a period room the pieces are drawn to period proportions. Nothing arrives flat-packed, because nothing here is flat-pack.

Sitting rooms and snugs across the city are losing the television bracket and gaining a wall. Cabling routed through the carcass before it leaves Stirchley, the screen recessed, the glow switched for the evening.

Can I visit the workshop?
By appointment, yes, and we would much rather show you a carcass than write about one. We are on the Pershore Road in Stirchley, open Monday to Friday 9 to 6 and Saturday 9 to 3. Ask when you enquire and we will set a time.
Do you cover all of Birmingham?
Yes. The whole city and everything around it. If you are inside the M42, M5 and M6, you are on our doorstep, and the survey is a local call rather than a scheduled expedition.
What does a fitted bedroom cost in Birmingham?
Our published tiers apply everywhere we work: fitted bedrooms start from £6k including VAT, a principal bedroom with a walk-in dressing room usually lands between £20k and £40k, and whole-floor schemes run £40k to £80k. Your exact number needs a survey, and the survey is free.
Our house is a 1930s semi with a bay window. Can you work around it?
It is one of the most common rooms we draw. The run steps around the bay rather than blanking it off, the top line sits below the picture rail, and the awkward triangle beside the window becomes shelving instead of a gap.
How long does fitting take?
Most rooms take days, not weeks. The furniture arrives built, because the building happened in the workshop; on site the work is assembly, scribing and finishing. The exact day count comes with your quote, so you know before you commit.
Do you make sliding doors as well as hinged?
Both, and we will tell you straight which suits your room. Sliding earns its place where a swing would fight the bed; hinged gives you the full opening and the classic look. In lofts and low rooms the ceiling usually decides.
